In a significant move towards advancing sustainable mobility infrastructure, Powerdot successfully concluded a follow-on capital raise, securing a substantial €100 million investment. Led by existing investors Antin Infrastructure Partners and Arié Group, this funding marks a pivotal moment for Powerdot’s expansion. It underscores its commitment to revolutionizing the EV charging landscape across Europe.

Expanding our Footprint

Luís Santiago Pinto, CEO of Powerdot, expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from Antin Infrastructure Partners and Arié Group. Pinto emphasized, “This capital raise underscores the success and potential of Powerdot in the EV charging space. With over 5,000 charging points in operation and an additional 10,000 in deployment, this investment will catalyze transformative growth, enabling us to expand our network and contribute to the evolution of sustainable mobility.”

Anand Jagannathan, Antin NextGen partner, stated, “Antin is committed to Powerdot’s continued growth, and today marks a significant milestone in our partnership aimed at decarbonizing transport. With this capital raise through our NextGen strategy, Powerdot will further expand the availability of affordable, fast charging stations to the public and foster the transition towards a more sustainable future. Powerdot represents the infrastructure of tomorrow – a next generation of critical infrastructure that is sustainable, scalable, and connected.”

“As an early investor in Powerdot, the Arié Group could not be more excited to be part of this capital raise.” says David Arié, Board Member at Arié Group. “The strong operational focus of the Powerdot team and the tremendous growth in 2023 led us to double down on our commitment. We proudly continue to support the growth of the Powerdot project for sustainable mobility.”

2023 – A Year of Tremendous Achievements

The substantial investment follows Powerdot’s exceptional growth in 2023, marked by a 201% increase in operational charging points and a 218% rise in kWh consumption. Presently, Powerdot boasts over 5,000 active charging points across 1,300 locations, with plans to deploy nearly 10,000 charging points across 1,400 locations. This capital infusion will fuel the expansion of Powerdot’s charging infrastructure, drive technological advancements, and strengthen partnerships to enhance the EV user experience.

In its home market of Portugal, Powerdot has become a reference for partners and users, with over 1,300 operational charging points. Similarly, Powerdot maintains a robust presence in France with over 3,700 operational charging points, experiencing a remarkable 500% year-on-year growth in kWh consumption. In Spain, Powerdot has activated over 300 charging points in 2023 alone, signaling significant progress in market penetration. Furthermore, Powerdot is rapidly expanding its presence in Belgium and Poland with strategic partnerships and ambitious deployment plans.

As Powerdot secures €100 million in its follow-on capital raise, the company stands poised to drive sustainable mobility initiatives across Europe. With a steadfast commitment to innovation and partnership, Powerdot is set to redefine the EV charging landscape, propelling the continent towards a cleaner and more sustainable future.
